About Megan

Welcome to MEGHAN ROSE ACUPUNCTURE, a leading acupuncture & holistic health practice in Denver, CO dedicated to helping you heal through acupuncture, massage and Chinese herbal medicine.

Meghan Rose Nolan, LAc is a distinguished practitioner who brings a firm and reassuring presence into her treatment space and has been called “angel hands”. Meghan follows an approach to treatment based on the historical footprints of Chinese medicine, when massage and bodywork practices preceded acupuncture as the primary tools for exploring, mapping and diagnosing the body on both physical and energetic levels, thus providing the basis for uncovering the entirety of the musculoskeletal and meridian system.

From years of study and active engagement with human anatomy and physiology, Meghan is able to impart her patients with a treatment experience that delivers results with modalities rooted in lineages from Eastern Medicine traditions, which also flow in union from a Western biomedical perspective.

Meghan has worked with many athletes attending to sports or other orthopedic injuries and muscle recovery, US Veterans experiencing chronic pain and PTSD, those injured at work or through motor vehicle accidents, and has supported overall wellness with mental health concerns, reproductive care, digestive disorders, chronic illness, autoimmune, neurological conditions and more.

Having studied under the direction of Dr. Yan Lu, Meghan developed a deep appreciation for and the results achieved from the consistent integration of massage and bodywork with acupuncture and herbal medicine. Massage therapy continues to serve as the foundation and distinct core of her approach to each treatment experience, leading to a more attuned and informed course of acupuncture with adjunct therapies for meaningful changes to all aspects of one’s health.

Her nurturing approach allows time for patients to feel fully heard, alongside an intuitive touch that works with guided determination, a pursuit which allows for grounding release at the musculoskeletal level and invites patients to reconnect in body, mind and spirit. With an emphasis on ensuring that her patients feel safe and informed throughout their course of treatment, Meghan empowers patients to take on a collaborative role in their healing process. Here, your health concerns are listened to with all senses, in touch and in sight with keen observation to understand the story held within.

Bio

Meghan Rose Nolan, LAc. MACOM, RYT

Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MACOM)

Licensed Acupuncturist & Herbalist

Meghan followed a heartfelt journey from financial analyst in Manhattan, NY to fulfill her calling of becoming a licensed Acupuncturist + Herbalist. She began her professional career in private practice & under the mentorship of Dr. Yan Lu in beautiful Portland, OR before love and life brought her to Denver, Colorado.

From a young age, Meghan witnessed the health crises of close family members, including hypothyroidism, diabetes, heart disease and colon cancer, and was herself diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome at the age of 16. Following these experiences, Meghan spent a short lifetime studying all aspects of the human experience and how they impact us physically, mentally and spiritually, which is how she encountered Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine.

Having also completed over 300 hours of yoga teacher training with study in both New York and India, Meghan moved to Portland in 2017 and earned her Master’s degree in Chinese Medicine from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, and completed her capstone research study on the use of electro-acupuncture and motor function recovery. Over 13 years of study in body mechanics, functional medicine and hundreds of miles trekked solo around the globe inform Meghan’s treatments to effectively restore freedom of movement and cultivate resilience in mind, body and spirit.

In practice, Meghan holds an affinity for working with orthopedic injury, chronic pain, digestive health, autoimmune & neurological conditions, metabolic disorders, reproductive health, post-partum recovery, genitourinary and psycho-emotional regulation for which Chinese Medicine can be a champion. (Please also see conditions treated).

Meghan is able to address a wide range of conditions and tailor treatments to meet patient’s specific needs and constitution by drawing upon her own attuned and intimate understanding of how stress, injury, dis-ease and energetics affect the body in addition to a broad scope of training that encompasses Shiatsu & Tuina massage, advanced orthopedic and Japanese acupuncture techniques and adjunct “non-needle” therapies such as moxibustion, cupping, gua sha and teishin work. Meghan is also board certified in Chinese herbal medicine.

Growing up Italian-American, food was and is a central part of Meghan’s life and she has a special area of interest as an integrative health coach in helping her patients discover food as medicine. Through close mentorship and counsel related to food, lifestyle and movement, Meghan aims to impart her patients with the ability to experience a deeper and more vibrant experience of health guided by both the philosophical theory and practical application of Chinese medicine as a path to reclamation, peace and healing of the authentic self.

Outside the clinic, Meghan can be found taking on DIY projects, culinary and herbal research, reading, or is out and about with her partner Salil and their dog Penny exploring the mountains and many a music venue. She is excited to have found a healing space with the team at Denver Integrated Therapies and community in Denver, CO. She is most grateful for her supportive parents, her mentorship under Dr. Yan Lu and post-graduate studies in the clinical strategies of Kiiko Matsumoto.
